Could the Fountain of Youth come from a fruit? Tampa Company Royal Pineapple is banking on it. The cost is about nine bucks a bottle.

Dermotalogists throughout the Bay aren’t relying on Mother nature. They’re waiting for the F.D.A. to approve a hyaluronic acid that plumps out fine lines. Used in Europe for years, injections last about a year. Some doctors are betting the demand will be bigger than botox.

Wonder how Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio stays in shape? She walks along what’s known as the country’s longest continuous sidewalk. Tampa’s top politician hits Bayshore Boulevard about once a week. Power walking isn’t easy when you hold the keys to the city, every few strides she’s stopped and asked questions.

You can bypass the Mayor and city hall to dig up local facts, forms and information on line. Find a pet to adopt, e-mail every county commissioner, figure out the price of your neighbors home before you put your abode on the market. It’s all part of the 8-thousand pages of the Hillsborughcounty.org web site. The average hits per day 186,812.

The Tampa Bay performing Art Center is rocking. The Rockettes are kicking their way into town for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular from December 11 to January 4. Looking for a laugh, Comedy Central Live hits the stage featuring Louis Black and Dave Attel November 6. If it’s romance you crave, you can move and grove with Harry Connick Junior November 23.

Butlers are showing up in Bay Area homes. Local artists Nandien O’Connell and Tom Manalilli turned their hobby of creating life size English butlers into a business. The hand crafted characters may not open the door for your guest, but the butlers will almost certainly serve up some smiles. Each butler is different but all are quite the conversation piece.

A designer/stylist is “out to make Tampa beautiful one woman at a time”. Fashion designer, Tom Mazas, is adding another store to his collection. Efos boutique in North Tampa will have a sister store in South Tampa on Howard and Kennedy.

Counting sheep at night? A nationwide study is going on in St. Petersburg. If you can stay awake long enough to dial 727 381-9253 you may qualify to take part in the research.

Or maybe you just need a new mattress. If you want to sleep like the King of Sweden the Hastens bed is for you. Made of horsehair, cotton, wool and flax, the company says the natural materials allow your body to breath. It’s beyond comfortable, but you need a royal sum to swing the top of the line model. It goes for $15,000 the blue light special is $3,500. Inspiration by Scan Design in Tampa and Palm Harbour is one of only seven companies in the country that carry the blissful bed. Sweet dreams.

Buccaneer Bruce is making a comeback. Several second hand shops say football fans are asking for the old time orange. One entrepreneur printed the old logo on new shirts and sold out his supply quicker than Derrick Brooks popping a QB.

Former Buc’s cheerleader Amyra Shaheed and former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Christine Ewald battle it out on the dance floor once a week. The dueling divas team up to instruct a dance until you drop workout at XTREME Fitness. You might have seen Shaheed on Live with Regis and Kelley. The Tampa woman took part in a dream date competition. There was no love connection, but she’s still raving about Regis and “how funny and short” he really is.

A Belleair couple will make their national television debute on HGTV. The Alonso family couldn’t decide between a formal look and casual comfort. The radical results of a two room makeover play out on Designers’Challenge.

Cool preschoolers have a place to call their own. Paint Me A Story is a big hit with the under 5 crowd. The kids listen to a story then paint ceramic figurines related to the tale. For more information go to www.ColorMeMineTampa.com
